This is a traditional kerala side dish which is easy to make and tastes delicious. 

500 gms beans cut into small pieces
1 small onion finely chopped
3 garlic cloves finely chipped
1 tbsp Bengal gm ( Chana Dal)
1 tsp urad Dal
1/2 cup grated coconut or desiccated coconut
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp mustard seeds
2 dry red chillies cut into 2 pcs
1 spring curry leaves
1/4 tsp Asafoetida 
Salt to taste
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tsp coconut oil
1 tbsp chopped cilantro

How to cook:
1.In a pan heat veg oil, add urad Dal and Bengal gram and cook till they turn golden brown.
2.Add mustard seeds and curry leaves, when the mustard seeds splutter add garlic and cook till it turns light brown.  
3.Add onion and cook till the onions turn golden brown.
4.Add the beans , turmeric powder and salt to taste and cook for 10 minutes.
5.Add the grated coconut and Asafoetida and mix well.
6.Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve.

This can be served with rice or even with any Indian bread.
